We started from a totally blank sheet, and the desire to design a mixer that was focused on being intuitive, simple to use and immediate.

Logical layout

The features, the layout, even the spacing of controls and the artwork were all carefully considered to make what we feel is the most approachable and usable mixer for live music.

Most mixers are not used by professional sound engineers; often they are used on the side of the stage by a band member, or by a friend of the band.

Overview

The PERFORMER FX was designed to facilitate easy set up, and easy adjustment with great flexibility.

The front panel is spaced to enable the user to easily find the desired control, and then adjust it without accidentally changing others. The artwork guides the user through the flow of FX and Aux channels, and all outputs and inputs are aligned with the relevant controls.

USB power is provided (separate to the Audio connections) so low cost desk lamps can easily be sourced, or a phone / MP3 player can be charged.

The Rec out (via USB or RCA) can be selected as main mix or Aux1/2, allowing different stereo mixes. Every channel has a signal/clip indicator next to the gain control. 6 (of the 9) mic inputs have individually switchable phantom power.

The FX channels can be used as additional stereo input channels. Each Aux has a notch filter for fast and easy feedback control.

The PERFORMER FX is equipped with 2 independent 16 DSP FX engines featuring only the most useful of FX programs – each with a dedicated parameter adjust.

Our aim was to design a mixer with everything you might need, but make it easy to use without needing a degree in Sound Engineering or 30 years experience. We feel we have achieved that.
