The G-DRIVE pedal is a unique distortion pedal that offers 6-band EQ on the input (‘character’) and a further 6-band EQ on the output (‘colour’). The combination of these allows you to create and re-create classic guitar distortion tones.

The DRIVE control allows you to set the amount of distortion from mild to wild.

To assist with the creation of clasic guitar distortion, the front panel shows the settings for six ‘presets’:

-FUSION

-RADIO

-WILD FUZZ

-DS METAL

-MODERN BLUES

-CRUNCH

By lining up the sliders to, for example, F on the front panel, you will hear the FUSION preset. Of course, you may deviate from this with your own settings.

As with other Akai Professional effects pedals, the G-DRIVE features a ‘true bypass’footswitch meaning that the straight sound will pass through totally unaffected by the pedal’s circuitry. It’s also built like a tank to withstand the rigours of live performance.
